October 8th 2005, a 7.6 magnitude earthquake struck the North West Frontier.
Four weeks later, our first team arrived in Pakistan, as part of the Early Response.
Gaza
In 2009 MIST sent teams to help treat the injured as part of the Early Response.
In 2010, our Director, Suheal Khan spent a sabbatical year in Gaza as Head of Orthopaedics at Nasser Hospital, Khan Yunis and help set up the Limb Reconstruction Unit.
Nepal
2015 saw a 7.8 magnitude earthquake strike Kathmandu.
MIST sent a team to the Norvic International Hospital in Kathmandu as part of the Early Response.

In 2013 MIST was invited to the Children’s Surgical Centre and since then has been treating and helping to train local health professionals in limb reconstruction.

In 2018 MIST was invited to Benghazi to help set up a limb reconstruction unit for victims of the war in 2011.
